Enjoy an evening out at The Blue Pool this January & February where stunning illuminations transform the Nature Reserve into a colourful spectacle of light.
Created in partnership with Light Wave Trails, 2027 marks a new chapter for this popular event. Expect a fresh take on this winter favourite, with new sights, sounds and experiences along the way. Discover glowing pathways, striking installations and immersive moments as you follow the trail through the woodland and around the lake.

How do I get there?
The Blue Pool is easily accessible by car, signposted with brown tourist information signs from the Furzebrook roundabout on the A351 main road from Wareham to Swanage. The nearest bus station is on the A351 at the top of our exit road and the closest train station is in Wareham.
Do I need to pre-book?
Please pre-book your tickets online. Whilst we will have the option to purchase tickets on the day, they will be at an increased price and parking will be prioritised for ticket holders.
What time should I arrive?
Timed entry helps us create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please arrive at the start of your selected time slot. Once parked, head to the entrance gates and have your ticket QR code ready for our events team to scan.
Is parking available?
Parking is available on site, we recommend car sharing where possible. There are 3 parking spaces for blue badge holders. Our exit road has a maximum height restriction of 9ft. Please note there is no overnight parking or electric charging points.
Is the site accessible?
Whilst the trails (in dry conditions) are wheelchair accessible and suitable for prams, please note the terrain is uneven due to the natural woodland setting. Additionally, wet weather can cause muddy conditions, so we recommend checking the weather conditions before booking. Please note the rope bridge is not suitable for wheelchairs or prams, however there is an alternative path around it so that the lights at that section of the trail can still be enjoyed.
How long should I plan for my visit?
We recommend planning up to 2 hours for your visit. The illuminated trail is approximately a kilometre long and leads to our Tearooms and outdoor terrace area with fire pits.
Can I change my ticket?
If you have purchased Booking Protection (option available on the ticket selection screen) you change your booking 7 days prior to the original date you have booked. For a small fixed fee, it allows you to reschedule to a different date or time slot should your plans change. To reschedule, use the self-serve link in your booking confirmation email – you’ll receive an updated confirmation automatically. Please note: Booking Protection must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added afterwards. It covers date and time changes only and does not entitle you to a refund or cancellation.
If you have not purchased booking protection, your tickets cannot be changed.
Booking Protection T&Cs
Booking Protection applies to the entire booking and allows you to reschedule your booking up to 7 days before your original visit date. Individual tickets within a booking cannot be rescheduled separately. Bookings without Booking Protection cannot be amended.
Can I request a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable. Events will go ahead in wet weather which can often bring the most memorable experiences, so refunds will not be offered due to rain or poor weather alone.
In exceptional circumstances, if we have to cancel because weather conditions or other circumstances make it unsafe to attend, we will offer a change of date in the first instance. We will provide a refund for the face value paid if a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged. Tickets cannot be used after the booked event date.
Is there anywhere to buy food & drink?
Our Art Deco Tearooms will be serving refreshments throughout the evening. If you would like to speak to our team regarding dietary requirements please call 01929 558150.
What time is last entry?
Access onto the light trail closes 30 minutes before the event end time. The gates and car park will close at the event end time.
What should I wear?
We recommend dressing warmly, wearing appropriate footwear, and bringing a torch for any unlit sections of the trail.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but are not permitted to cross the rope bridge. Please clean up after them, dog waste bins are available on the trail.
