Opening Times

The Blue Pool is open throughout the year. Our opening times vary seasonally with last entry times in place to allow plenty of time to explore the woodland walks and Tearooms.

April – September: 9:30am – 5:30pm
Please note: The Blue Pool Nature Reserve & Tearooms will be closed all day on Saturday 11th July.

October: 9:30am – 5:00pm

November – February: 10:00am – 4:00pm

March: 9:30am – 5:00pm

Last entry: 1 hour before closing. Tearooms close: 30 minutes before closing.

Admission Prices

Advance booking is not required. Tickets can be purchased on arrival, and we accept both cash and card payments.

Low Season

1st November – 28th February

  • Adults (16 and over): £7.75
  • Children (5 – 15 years): £3.95
  • Under 5s: Free

High Season

1st March – 31st October

  • Adults (16 and over): £9.75

Wheelchair Users qualify for a 50% discount on entry to The Blue Pool *

Carers of those with a disability who are visiting The Blue Pool qualify for a 10% discount on entry.

* Due to the nature of the terrain it is considered unlikely that wheelchair users will be able to enjoy full access to all that the site has to offer. Please see FAQs below for further information.

Getting Here

The Blue Pool is easy to get to by car and is clearly signposted with brown tourist information signs from the Furzebrook roundabout on the A351 between Wareham and Swanage.

The nearest bus stop is located on the A351, with a short walk along our exit road to reach the site. The closest train station is in Wareham, just a short taxi or drive away.

FAQs

You don’t need to pre-book before you visit The Blue Pool, entry fees are payable on the gate on arrival. We accept, card, cash or contactless payment. Please check our opening hours to help you plan your visit.

All buildings, the Tearooms, terrace and play area are accessible to wheelchair users and are suitable for push chairs, along with the circular Azalea walk which is the main walking route around The Blue Pool that includes the Fairy and Goblin Trail. Some areas are accessed only via steep steps such as the lower waterside paths. We offer a 50% discount for wheelchair users and 10% discount for carers.

There is ample parking available on site including 3 accessible parking spaces for Blue Badge Holders. Our exit road has a maximum height restriction of 9ft.  Please note there is no overnight parking or electric charging points. 

The Blue Pool is not safe for people or pets to swim in and children should be accompanied when walking near the waters edge.

Yes dogs are welcome at The Blue Pool. There are over 30 acres of paths and walkways for you to explore with your canine companions, please keep them on a lead and clean up after them.

As the Tearooms are set within the grounds of the Nature Reserve it is not possible to visit them without paying the general admission fee.

No, pre-booking is not required unless you are coming as a large group (10+) or would like to book our private function room. For further details and prices please contact 01929 558150

Yes, whilst there are no designated tables (Tearoom and terrace seating is prioritised for visitors making a purchase) , there are lots of scenic areas around The Blue Pool Nature Reserve to enjoy a picnic. Please ensure you take all rubbish home with you. 

Open flames, including, but not limited to BBQs, camping stoves and pizza ovens are not permitted on site.

Please contact a member of staff as soon as possible. If you call an ambulance, please make us aware so we can help direct them to you.

Litter bins are available outside The Tearooms for customer use.

We do not want to spoil The Blue Pool Nature Reserve with bins that attract insects, rodents and wildlife that may fall ill eating human food and packaging.

Please respect the site and wildlife by taking responsibility for your own rubbish.

WiFi is available via The Blue Pool guest network.

The Blue Pool offers secure bicycle parking facilities for visitors. Feel free to enjoy a ride to the site and park your bicycle safely while you explore the beautiful surroundings. Please note cycling is not permitted in the nature reserve. 

A visit to The Blue Pool can vary depending on your interests. Generally, visitors spend around 2 to 3 hours exploring the nature reserve, enjoying the tearooms, and visiting the gift shop. However, you can spend more time if you wish to fully enjoy the surroundings and participate in any events or activities. The Azalea Walk trail around the lake is approximately a kilometre, but there are additional paths you can explore around the reserve.

Gift vouchers are available to buy from our gift shop and can be used across the site for admission, in the tearooms and gift shop, and for tickets at our seasonal events.
