An Experience to Remember
Make magical memories this Christmas with a special Visit to see Santa at The Blue Pool near Wareham, Dorset. Set in a beautiful woodland location, this much-loved and popular event is a festive experience to remember.
Choose from three timeslots – Morning, Afternoon or Twilight.
Morning & Afternoon: Follow our festive woodland trail around The Blue Pool, discovering Christmas displays along the way before arriving at the cosy grotto, where a very special meeting with Santa awaits.
Twilight: Our new Twilight experience offers a magical evening alternative. On the terrace, enjoy sparkling Christmas lights, cosy fire pits for toasting marshmallows and our festive hot chocolate bar, before meeting Santa in his grotto. Please note that the woodland trail will be closed during Twilight visits.
Every Visit Santa ticket includes a gift from Santa, with two to choose from on the day, plus a postcard to write to Santa and pop into our special Christmas post box. Twilight visitors will also receive a bag of marshmallows to toast over the fire pits.
Whichever timeslot you choose, our cosy tearooms will be open throughout the event, offering the perfect place to warm up, relax and enjoy a festive treat.

How do I get there?
The Blue Pool is easily accessible by car, signposted with brown tourist information signs from the Furzebrook roundabout on the A351 main road from Wareham to Swanage. The nearest bus station is on the A351 at the top of our exit road and the closest train station is in Wareham.

Please pre-book your tickets online in advance – this is a popular event.
Want to visit Santa and receive a special gift?
Each child who would like to visit Santa and receive their special gift must have a Visit Santa ticket. This applies to children of all ages. Their gift is included in the price of the ticket. Children with a Visit Santa ticket do not need a separate child general admission ticket.
Accompanying adults and other visitors: At least one adult General Admission ticket must be booked with a Visit Santa ticket, as children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Up to two adults may accompany each child inside the grotto.
If additional family members or friends are attending The Blue Pool with you on the day, they will also need a general admission ticket. These can be purchased online in advance or on arrival.
Please note: A general admission child ticket does not include a visit to Santa.
What is included in the Visit Santa ticket?
Any child who would like to visit Santa will need a Visit Santa ticket. The ticket includes entry to The Blue Pool and a private family meeting with Santa in the grotto. Each child with a Visit Santa ticket will receive an unwrapped gift, allowing them to choose one from a choice of two on the day.
Our jolly elf will be there to welcome you to the grotto and make sure Santa stays on schedule – he’s a busy man at this time of year! You’re very welcome to take photos, but please be mindful not to photograph other children.
*Please note: a general admission child ticket does not include a visit to Santa.
What time should we arrive?
Morning timeslot: Please arrive between 10am-11:30am and make your way to Santa’s grotto. You are welcome to enjoy The Blue Pool until 4pm.
Afternoon timeslot: You are welcome to arrive anytime from 10am to enjoy The Blue Pool, however you will need to wait until 1pm to visit Santa in his grotto.
Twilight timeslot: Please arrive between 4pm – 5pm and make your way to Santa’s grotto, you are welcome to stay until the site closes.
Please have your ticket confirmation email with QR code ready for our events team to scan at the ticket gate on arrival. You can make your way to the grotto at your booked time slot.
Is parking available?
Parking is available on site. There are 3 parking spaces for blue badge holders. Our exit road has a maximum height restriction of 9ft. Please note there is no overnight parking or electric charging points.
Is the site accessible?
The grotto and all buildings on site are accessible, including toilets with baby changing facilities also available.
Whilst the trails (in dry conditions) are wheelchair accessible and suitable for prams, please note the terrain is uneven due to the natural woodland setting. Additionally, wet weather can cause muddy conditions, so we recommend checking the weather conditions before booking. Please note the rope bridge is not suitable for wheelchairs or prams, however there is an alternative path around it.
Can I change my ticket?
If you have purchased Booking Protection (option available on the ticket selection screen) you can change your booking 7 days prior to the original date you have booked. For a small fixed fee, it allows you to reschedule to a different date or time slot should your plans change. To reschedule, use the self-serve link in your booking confirmation email – you’ll receive an updated confirmation automatically. Please note: Booking Protection must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added afterwards. It covers date and time changes only and does not entitle you to a refund or cancellation.
If you have not purchased booking protection, your tickets cannot be changed.
Booking Protection T&Cs
Booking Protection applies to the entire booking and allows you to reschedule your booking up to 7 days before your original visit date. Individual tickets within a booking cannot be rescheduled separately. Bookings without Booking Protection cannot be amended.
Can I request a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable. Events will go ahead in wet weather which can often bring the most memorable experiences, so refunds will not be offered due to rain or poor weather alone.
In exceptional circumstances, if we have to cancel because weather conditions or other circumstances make it unsafe to attend, we will offer a change of date in the first instance. We will provide a refund for the face value paid if a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged. Tickets cannot be used after the booked event date.
Is there anywhere to buy food & drink?

Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but are not permitted to cross the rope bridge. Please clean up after them, dog waste bins are available on the trail.
